Knowles has agreed to stay on in the position he first took on in 2017 when replacing Damian Lubeek at the helm.
Finals have eluded the club during Knowles' reign and will do so again this year with the Wickers in 11th spot on the ladder, three games and percentage adrift of the top eight.
Just three home and away rounds remain until finals.
Knowles, a multiple Redan premiership player, joined Creswick from Springbank in 2016 before taking over the coaching job the following year.
Creswick has a home game on Saturday afternoon against Rokewood-Corindhap.
After that, the Wickers have the bye before a round 17 showdown with Ballan.
